Jehiel Wootrod Pdahel Joly is known by one of his middle names, Wootrod.
Wootrod was born in Port-au-Prince. When Wootrod was five-years-old his parents were divorced and he was sent to La Gonave to live with his grandmother. He lived there for two years before returning to Port-au-Prince to live with his uncle. However, his uncle was unemployed and it was hard for him to care for Wootrod. A relative of Wootrod, Tiboudo, is a St. Joseph Family employee. He told Wootrod’s mother about the St. Joseph Family and she asked us to take Wootrod in. Wootrod’s mother no longer lives in Haiti and his three younger brothers are living with relatives in Haiti.
Wootrod is a very talented young man. He is a part of the Resurrection Dance Theater of Haiti and had traveled to the United States and Canada several times on dance tours. He is a talented musician and plays the piano. Wootrod also performed in the St. Joseph Family production of Godspell.
Wootrod’s dream is to finish school and learn a profession so he can support his three younger brothers.
